Studio Jesper K Thomsen was founded in Copenhagen in 2000 and is run by inventor and product designer Jesper K Thomsen.

The studio works across industries — from medical devices to furniture — guided by a simple principle:

Simplify and make sense.

The goal is to create product solutions that are intuitive, functional and built to solve real problems.

I enjoy working with hard-core technical challenges and regulatory frameworks within the medical device industry just as much as I value aesthetics, comfort and form in furniture design.

What drives me most is the intersection between these worlds — where engineering, regulation and aesthetic sensibility come together to create solutions that neither field could achieve alone.

As a designer, I develop solutions that solve real problems with clarity and purpose.

As a realist, I understand that every project is a balance of trade-offs and informed decisions.
As an experienced professional, I’ve navigated complexity, made mistakes, and learned how to move projects forward.
And as an inventor and entrepreneur, I take responsibility for making things happen — from idea to implementation.

With 25 years of experience in design and product development, and 8 years working with IoT, connected devices and platform solutions, I bring a rare combination of creative thinking, technical understanding and execution, backed by multiple international design awards (including Red Dot and Good Design Award) and several patented inventions.
